BIOGRAPHYEd Thompson is a British photographer, his natural reportage style of wedding photography has been informed by his own photographic work which has focused on various subjects over the years from covering environmental issues, socio-political movements and subcultures for the worlds leading magazines.
Ed photographed his first wedding back in 2004 and since then his own documentary photo-essays have been published in international magazines including National Geographic Magazine, Newsweek Japan, Greenpeace Magazine, The Guardian Weekend Magazine and The Sunday Times Magazine Spectrum Supplement (U.K). His work has featured on television internationally and exhibited in photography festivals in Arles (France), Tampere (Finland), Germany (Zingst) & London (U.K).
In 2007 he studied the Master's Degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication for which he received a first class distinction, during that time he worked on various photo-series including The Texas Hill Country and Living Historians. He is currently an Associate Lecturer at LCC. He lives in the South-East of England working on regular assignments both in the U.K and worldwide.
